This week I’ll be flitting about at the speed of light, from my temporary home base in Dallas, where I’m suffering from intense guilt over not bringing Petey the Poo with me even though I know he is happy with Susanne. I’m focusing on writing short pieces (have one upcoming in ADDitude Magazine!), finishing formatting of SkipJack Publishing’s new release, My Dream of Freedom: From Holocaust to My Beloved America, by Helen Colin, and incorporating the beta readers’ suggestions into Leaving Annalise. In my downtown, you can catch me here:

We should be home in our beds in Houston by midnight!

We had the BEST time last weekend at Cowtown Crime Solvers (a chapter of Sisters in Crime), where I spoke on workplace investigations, which I called “Colonel Mustard in the Conference Room with his Pants Down.” 😉 It was a big hit. We also did a shockingly successful Meet the Author event at the Round Rock, TX Barnes & Noble. A wonderful woman who I babysat for when I was in middle school came, and we had dinner with one of my brother’s high school friends, at Pappadeaux, where I continued my love affair with their banana pudding.

Sad news: one of our goats died! Hazel, who was mean as a snake, just keeled over dead. We think it was complications of her pregnancy, as the rest of the herd are hale and hearty. I really, really am sad we won’t have her babies. Lucy, the other pregnant nanny, is doing very well and we think she’ll kid in April.

Week 3 of this round of P90X is in the books. If I could kick the banana pudding habit, I’d lose some weight, but I’m stronger if not thinner. I’m about to test some new trail running shows from Vasque called Pendulum, so maybe more running will shrink my posterior.

Y’all get on out and vote for Easy to Love But Hard to Raise as Top Special Needs Memoir at http://specialchildren.about.com/od/readerschoice/tp/Readers-Choice-Memoir.htm, OK? You can vote once a day.

That’s all I’ve got for now.
