Well, this has to be the biggest honor I’ve received in my short writing career! Houston’s news and entertainment weekly, the Houston Press, has featured me as one of their “100 Houston Creatives 2014!” Read it HERE (caveat: I gave this interview via phone from the freezing cold Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo with cows mooing in the background, so I can’t be held responsible for anything I said). Please share this little sucker through social media if you can. It’s big.
On the same day this article came out, I had the privilege of presenting at the Johnson City Library’s Seventh Annual Writing Conference on the grounds of the LBJ Historical site. It was a blast, and I loved working with all the up and coming writers. Eric came with me and we were able to stop in Pedernales State Park for a lovely day, in the Bookmobile, which made quite an impression 😉 I’ll post pics soon.
And to complete the trifecta of awesomeness on Wednesday, a friend forwarded this Amazon email:
Friday I am in Kirbyville, Texas for their library’s second annual Local Author Meet and Greet. Saturday I am one of the three featured panelists at the 73-author Houston Author Bash. I’m sandwiched between two NYT Bestsellers. I’ll do my best to rep the indie world well! Sunday I audition for the live “Listen to Your Mother” show with a reading of my ode to my own mother, Nice Legs (you can read it in Hot Flashes and Half Ironmans). Next week will be crazy too as I spend Wed-Fri in Dallas as trailing spouse to my cute husband.
I have so many posts to write (about the frozen chicken I left in my car, Montgomery County Book Festival, and Eric’s risque accidental text to Clark Kent), but right now I have to kick it into high gear to meet a deadline.
Back at ya soon, and thanks for subscribing,
