Hola, mis amigos y amigas!
This weeks marked day 1 of 54 that Eric is traveling away from me in the next 64 days, with the threat of heavy travel in the two weeks following that. Me no likey 🙁 Thank God it ends for the Christmas/New Year’s break. This trip was to Brussels. Before the end of November, he’ll have racked up
- Mexico City
- New Orleans
- San Antonio
- Multiple trips to Dallas and Houston
- And more
I will be with him a couple of extra days in November, in Denmark and Sweden, and a few more by driving him to Dallas and camping out there to wait and bring him home (he’s had one too many “drive off the road while exhausted” solo trips of the 2.5-hours back from the airport for my lifetime). <3 But meanwhile I have to man the home—or, make that “barn apartment at my parents’ place—front, for many reasons. One of which is that I will be appearing at the Montgomery Aggie Moms Club’s fundraiser for their scholarship fund, in November. Another of which is podcasts, puppies, ponies, kittens (new! pictures soon!) and audio narration. And yet another which is a secret, and shall have to remain so for a few more months. Last but not least, depending on my dad’s treatment regimen, I am on call for taxi service to-and-from Dallas from their little ranch in Comanche County, Texas.
Hopefully all his absence will mean that I rock the
- Rewrite of SNAKE OIL (done with first draft now—I was behind schedule but then had 7000 and 5000 word days within one week and bounced the heck back!)
- Audio of SWITCHBACK and SNAKE OIL, and the Maggie books: LIVE WIRE, SICK PUPPY, DEAD PILE, BUCKLE BUNNY, and SHOCK JOCK
- And walk, ride, and take care of myself daily
Podcast of the week: Patti Callahan Henry! This woman is delightful (and The Favorite Daughter, the book I reviewed for the show, was great) Listen for yourself:
Blessings to you all!
